Hawaiʻi's Peace Day

In 2007, the Hawaiʻi Legislature designated September 21 Peace Day in Hawaiʻi. We celebrated in large outdoor community gatherings until the pandemic in 2020. Keeping the celebration of peace alive virtually, we moved the event to Zoom.

 

Today, we continue to celebrate peace online, now getting to see people around the world, from Hawaiʻi to Japan, ring their peace bells all together.

​Mahalo to our Bishop Umitani and the Honpa Ohana for this annual tradition.
